Summit Power has supported a global adhesives manufacturer in launching a new factory by providing a highly flexible, sustainable, and reliable temporary power system.
Located in North Yorkshire, the factory was not connected to the mains electricity supply. To bridge this gap, the US-based company turned to Summit Power to install mobile generators as a temporary power source.
Cost-effective and energy-efficient
Summit Power General Manager Alistair Harris explained: “This project involved a large company needing to initiate its manufacturing processes without permanent power infrastructure in place.
“We provided a tailored temporary power solution that ensured the company had the necessary power at the right time, in a cost-effective and energy-efficient manner, while minimising environmental impact.”
The manufacturer required an urgent power solution to commission and test electrical systems within the building and across production lines.
Due to the complexity of the production process, which involves a wide range of mechanical equipment with varying power demands, a highly adaptable power system was essential.

Exceptional fuel efficiency
Summit Power conducted a detailed site assessment and swiftly proposed an optimal temporary power setup, which was promptly approved by the client.
At the core of the system is a dynamic load-on-demand setup featuring four 200kVA generators. The advanced Stage 5 power units meet the highest regulatory standards, offer exceptional fuel efficiency, and produce minimal emissions.
Supporting this system are two 4,500-litre white diesel fuel tanks, two 1,600-litre AdBlue tanks, and a power distribution panel, all managed through Summit Power’s intelligent remote fuel management system.
The entire setup is interconnected with 240mm power cables, collectively weighing five tonnes.
Intelligent power solution
Alistair Harris added: “Our intelligent fuel management system enables both our team and the client to monitor fuel and AdBlue levels while analysing power usage over time.
“This ensures timely refuelling and optimal generator performance, keeping the temporary power system running efficiently and effectively.”
Summit Power is committed to delivering the most efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable temporary and off-grid power solutions.
Its fleet of exclusively Stage 5 generators is complemented by advanced technologies, including hybrid power systems that integrate generators with battery packs.
This combination of technologies and expertise optimises load management, reduces costs, and provides noise- and emissions-free power when required.
